5 "Must Do" Items When Starting a Business

Starting a business can be challenging in more than one way. The biggest struggles most complain about are of the availability of money, the use of time and how much or how little to network for business.  Most importantly, when starting your business, you need to specialize your priorities. By placing emphasis on these priorities, it will ensure the success of your home business. Listed below are 5 strategies you can implement immediately.

  1. Clarify the culture of your business.

This sets the tone of how you will do business in and out of the home. If you are consistent with passion and enthusiasm in what you do, you will more than likely create an environment that is exciting and comfortable to be a part of. With that culture set in place, you will be able to impress and attract clients with your enthusiasm and passion for the business that you are doing. Having an enthusiastic side will draw in the clients and give you a huge competitive edge over other more established companies.

2. Value your time and demand it from others as well

When people know you are self-employed, they seem to believe you have time for everything they don't have time for. You must make others value your time. Time is of the essence daily and you need to mandate that in what you do. Losing track of time is an easy trap to fall into when you are working from home. Never put off what you have to do today for tomorrow. Set a timeline of what you have to do and set a daily goal each day for you to do. It would be helpful if you set a time period each day to work in your home business. Establish a routine so that you and others in the home are accustomed to your working hours. Schedule start time, lunch, breaks and ending time just as if you were working for someone else.

3. Don’t be afraid to ask for sponsorship.

Starting a business can be costly. Especially if you are not prepared for unexpected cost. If you haven’t already saved money for your business venture, which is highly suggested, sponsorship is a great alternative. The good thing about working out of your home, you don’t have as many expenses as working from a brick and mortar establishment. Sponsorship can be done in various ways. Try crowdfunding, fundraising, small investors, local advertisement, family and friend contribution, etc. Sponsorship will come in handy when business is just starting out. It will enable you to get the supplies and other business necessities in advance without going too deep in debt starting off.

 4. Make networking a daily event.

Make it a priority to connect via social media, on the phone and in person. In the first year of your home business, it is important to develop new relationships and meet as many new people as you can. You can’t wait for a connection to happen by itself, you must be proactive. This may mean some aggressive movement of your own as well as getting out of the house to make it happen. It would not be out of order to start with a goal of connecting with at least 50 potential clients on a daily basis. Social media makes this easy. Also, sign up for meetups that are complementary to what you do.

5. Remain balanced in your life and business.

During the first year of business is when you set the tempo of your business. Don’t go into your new business working up to 18 hours a day, every single day. You need to give yourself a break or else you will quickly get burned out. Balance your business life with some family time or a hobby. Just remember, you determine how successful your home business is based on how much work, time and energy you put into it.

The Missing "Link" to YOUR Success

Is there a magic formula to success? Is it trial and era? Is it the pull of a lucky straw and waaalaaa... Everything you want is granted to you. Most successful people will tell you that it took and takes long hours, tears and sweat in order to reach the level of success you desire.

Whether it's spending years in school to acquire the knowledge or years in the workplace getting the hands on experience, your success is completely dependent on your desires and expectations.

5 Reasons Why People Fear Writing Their Own Paycheck

It has been said that everyone is not meant to be an entrepreneur. I beg to differ. Most people are entrepreneurs except they enjoy working and building the businesses of others instead of themselves. Therefore, they would be classified as intrapreneurs. There is nothing wrong with that if that is what you enjoy. Taking the plunge to self-reliance can be a hurdle, discouraging and down right depressing. However, the gratifying aspect of entrepreneurship outweighs all of that. There is no other profession that allows you flexibility, the ability to control your income and the desire to change the world and have your name stamped as the custom gold seal. Listed below are 5 reasons why most people are afraid to depend on themselves for financial survival and valued appreciation. Only the strong can conquer this narrow path.

  1. Fear of the unknown- This is the greatest barrier to the success of many. It dominates, manipulates and transpires the strong into dependent, weak individuals. When you are accustomed to receiving a salary, it’s difficult to transition to possibly not receiving one. The ups and downs can be unbearable if you are not prepared in advance. You can work your job while you build your dream. Learn everything you can on your job so that you know what to and not do in order to make your business thrive.
  2. No support from others- When others don’t support your viewpoint or your choice to leave a job and become an entrepreneur, it can be lonely. One may feel as though they are isolated from the “normal” way of doing things. When in actuality you are. Sometimes you are seeking someone to answer to and there is no one there but you. This may allow you to become distracted by the thoughts and opinions of others and often give up without giving your choice of life a chance.
  3. Not enough experience- Some of the richest business owners are college dropouts. Educational level is not indicative of success. However, there is a distinct characteristic that these individuals share. All were driven from one aspect or another. Their desire was greater than their fear and their belief in themselves carried them to success. So, don't allow your lack of not knowing be your excuse. There are many tools and resources to help you learn how to do what you want to do. In essence, don't recreate the wheel, just make it unique and your own.
  4. Time involved- Starting a business is typically not an overnight success. Even though the idea can be conceptualized during that time, developing it into a successful enterprise requires a significant amount of exclusion. You must remove yourself from all that is temporary in order to create your permanent way of life. The desire to start is always present, but to actually put the dream into action can be mind boggling, not to mention time consuming and possibly costly without the right information.
  5. Lack of direction- Starting without a defined plan confuses the beginning, the middle and the end. A business plan is essential for any business venture, small or large. Most people don’t know where to begin when seeking to start a business. Therefore, they give up before it is put on paper. It remains an imagination. Some often open up shop without research and baptize their business to be doomed from the beginning. You can't travel blind, nor can you succeed without seeing the light. Jot down ideas, look at what others have done and find out how to make it happen.

There are tons of businesses one can start. Some with little investment. Whatever business you decide on, you must be committed and determined to see it succeed. Entrepreneurship is like none other. There is a sense of pride that one has which causes you to stick your chest out with a sincere accomplishment that you made it happen. There's nothing like giving yourself a raise, a vacation or even retirement when you are in control of your destiny and not relying on an employer to do it. Those who attempt to seek the bright side of life often enjoy it so much that the thought of being under the leadership of someone else becomes frightening. These fears can become strengths with self-confidence, self-reliance, guidance, a plan and a whole bunch of faith. Be determined to achieve your goals and stay focused on what you want to accomplish. If you want it, you can have it with effort and action. By the size of a mustard seed, what you want is within reach.

LEGAL FORMS TO START A BUSINESS

How to Improve the POWER of You!

On a daily basis individuals are searching for secrets to health, wealth and happiness. In this search, they neglect key indicators that could be the stumbling blocks to success. Most don’t understand the simple aspect of recognizing who they are and what contributions they can make at improving their own personal life. It’s not a secret, but the catch many are missing is understanding self. Once this is understood, you would then have the knowledge to be both successful in personal and business relationships. Like everything leading to success, this begins with a plan.  Whether you’re anticipating improving your relationship with your spouse or family member, or move up the corporate ladder, this is all a result of personal growth. Individual growth starts with doing your best at every moment, in your career, home, or daily activities. Setting goals, no matter how small, enables you to soar to new heights and give you the confidence to accomplish more.

Many times, individuals stay hung up on other people’s expectations on what it is to be successful without factoring in their wants and desires.  Each of us has another idea of what makes us content.  It's important to acknowledge that if you spend most of your time and effort trying to reach another person’s goals, then you will find yourself perpetually searching for your life meaning and you will continue to be distressed.  Recognizing what is important is the first step to improving your personal life.

Balance is a key factor to a successful life. Some individuals don't see the concept of success beyond their own needs.  Frequently we're caught up in serving a dominant function, which overshadows our natural strengths. This results in stress and imbalance in your life. Learning to do things for yourself and your own needs are vital to improving your personal life. If you're always doing for others and seldom take time out for you, then you're building stress rather than improving your life. Your happiness should come first. It’s quite difficult to make others happy if you are unhappy yourself. Finding it hard to say no to others becomes more common and you will find yourself so engulfed by the needs of others, you forget you have needs too. This is a common human trait. You must learn to have an even balance in your life with everything you do and center on what you want. It’s not selfish, but necessary to live a stress free, purpose filled life.

Putting yourself down consistently, finding it hard to accept compliments and wishing you were someone else are simple examples that you may be sabotaging your life into depression. Encouraging positive self-talk with yourself and to other people, not speaking negative about yourself and other people are vital to establishing personal self-pride. Understanding that no matter what, you're ok with you. Improving your self-confidence is extremely important when improving your personal life. This will require putting your positive beliefs in perspective and making it a priority. Day after day you must work on removing the negative thoughts and the limiting self-beliefs you have grown accustomed to hearing. Believing in you is medicine to your soul and the cure you need to succeed.

Surround yourself with encouraging and motivating people. Discouraging people have an opposite agenda of what you need in your life and you must recognize who they are immediately. By taking small steps to do these things, you will begin improving your personal life without even realizing it. The key to success is to be constantly moving toward and forward in your goals. Learn steps to move ahead, stop looking back and refuse to be a victim of your past. Even though the past is important, you want to avoid lingering over past mistakes. Your mistakes should be learning tools and stepping stones towards your constant progress. Use them, learn from them and move ahead without hesitation.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?" Marianne Williamson

In essence, when you surround yourself with positive influences, it helps you to gain the power of processing and focusing in on your life. You deserve to have control. Don’t allow others to define your existence or claim your life’s purpose. Work hard on being a better, in control you in all you do. Some people will come and others will go. Nevertheless, understand who you are and don’t give anyone authority to define you in any of life’s capacity without your authorization. People can’t make you feel bad unless you give them permission.

The Traits of a Successful Mindset

"I truly believe in positive synergy, that your positive mindset gives you a more hopeful outlook, and belief that you can do something great means you will do something great."  Russell Wilson

In order to achieve success in business, relationships and life, you will need to have the right mindset.

Success is something that everyone wants to achieve, but many don’t put in the work. The simple process of achieving success involves you starting, focusing, showing up, committing and making it happen.

Most people simply do not know how powerful their minds are and how it can be the determining factor behind them attaining the success they desire.

“Success does not consist in never making mistakes but in never making thesame one a second time.” – George Bernard Shaw

A lot of people have failed simply because their minds were never in the right place. A lack of success could be a lack of incorporating these 5 principles in your life.

Determination

A true fact is that successful people are simply more determined than those who are not. This is a trait that is seen in every person that is successful in their given field. Their desire to be better than they were yesterday and the perception that it is their responsibility to attain the success that they envision.

Relaxed Despite Adversity

If you are a business owner, you have most likely dealt with a lot of problems. The way that you deal with this adversity will shape who you are as a person and as a business person. It is evident through their resilience of struggle. Successful people don’t complain and if they do, they come at it with a plan.

If you are able to stay relaxed despite adversity, you will be able to become more successful in your endeavors.

Knowledge

Successful people are simply smarter. This is not just speaking about grades in school, but in life in general. Their knowledge with everyday things and common sense is very important and you will need to understand just how important it is to have a lot of knowledge and be willing to acquire it. Successful people know what they can and can’t do.  For those things they can’t do, successful people are smart enough to hire someone who can do it. It is how they think and how they are wired to be successful.

Invest

Successful people are not afraid to invest in themselves. Whether it is for training, practicing or something that will help with their success, successful people will simply invest in their success on a regular basis. They realize that they are their greatest wealth. Successful people acknowledge that investing in themselves is the only way they will achieve their desired goals and objectives. By investing in themselves and others, successful people find another way to be successful on a regular basis.

No fear of failure

Failure is an obstacle for many. But not for successful people. If you have no fear of failure, then you will be motivated to see success clearer. Once you are able to rid your mind from the fear of failure, you will be redirect your actions towards achieving success. Successful people live life with risk and are not afraid to make a mistake. They can also care less what others say about what they do. Fear is their friend because the more they are afraid to do it, the more they are ready to do it at the drop of a hat. It is their fuel and their energy to fear what’s next. The unknown has no existence in their plan.

“Action is the foundational key to all success.” – Pablo Picasso

I can go on and on. The truth about successful people is that they are the CEO’s, the owners, the movers and the shakers of the economy, the school system and the community. They are the ones you want in your life and in your corner. Successful people make the impossible seem so possible. They are prepared to make a difference where there has always been a constant. Change is a part of their vocabulary. Successful people are action takers and problem solvers.

These are just some of the traits that successful people have and you too can have them as well.  Your decision to step out of the box and do what you desire is a decision between you and success. Just as long as you are patient and you try to incorporate these traits into your life on a daily basis, you, YES YOU, will be able to succeed in any aspect of your life.

4 Types of Human Hunger

“Making money isn't hard in itself, what's hard is to earn itdoing something worth devoting your life to” ― Carlos Ruiz Zafón

Thought of the day...

A question on the panel in #PlentifulLiving101. There are 4 types of hunger where people are striving to be fed.

1. Money - people need more of it. Something is always due or overdue. You fake the funk and rob Peter to pay Paul then go about it as if nothing is wrong with your right. You live in a fantasy because reality is too scary for sight.

An investment in knowledge pays the best interest. –Benjamin Franklin

2. Time - not enough of it exist. Work 8 hours to come home and prepare for tomorrow. You're too tired to do anything else but complain you don't have time. Waiting for Friday to eventually realize that it's Monday already and you're back to the same routine.

TIme quote 3. Security - nothing is guaranteed but life and death. I hate to inform you, but that good job isn't either. Don't be fooled and retire with just a pen. You better hope your 401K is still in tact. You should be accountable to you and everything else should be secondary. It ain't like it used to be and if it was, don't you want to be FREE.

“If a company won't hire you, why don't you start your own company? Steve Jobs created jobs, he didn't apply for them. #Startup your dreams.” Jarod Kintz

Dave Ramsey Quote 4. Spirituality - without it, people are misguided, mislead, misdirected and confused. They focus on external connections versus internal. When spirituality approaches them, they take credit for them being relieved for all of the problems above. Nothing can be done without a great relationship with the supplier. For HE provides a way to get through and be open to something new.

“Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love, Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved, as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.” ― Francis of Assisi

Nevertheless, the combination of money, time, security and spirituality can cause one to think long and hard or just continue going about their daily routine of existing and not living. All are needed to survive and thrive. At some point, one must have a conversation with self. Be real!! If there is lack, increase won't take place until you take action and move in a different direction in one or all areas of your life. Is it time to get busy?

“Always be smarter than the people who hire you.” ― Lena Horne

5 Tips to Remain Focused Everyday

Stay Focused0 Seeking strength in a greater source allows you to live life with purpose. Stay away from dream thieves and naysayers. Open your mind to what could be and what is. Everything you need to be happy is inside of you. Listed below are five tips to steer you in your lane of success. Remain focused, dream it, believe it and aim to achieve it.

1. Wake up every day with a true purpose. What do you plan to do today? What do you need to accomplish it? How close will you be towards achieving your goals? Having direction in your life gives you stability. There is no time to sit around and wait for something to happen. You take the first step and make it happen.

2. Love yourself first. If you don’t love you, how do you expect others to give you the respect you deserve? You should set the example as to how you want people to treat you. Expect the best and forget the rest. If you expect less, you will get less. Give yourself a hug. Try it! It makes you feel so much better and it gives you instant love.

3. Speak what you want into existence. The tongue has been called the greatest weapon. It can commit a blessing or a curse. It literally has the ability to destroy others you speak to and those who speak to you. Be contentious of what you say. If you believe it, make it happen by saying it. The more you say it, you begin to feel it and the universe has a way of bringing it to reality. Only allow positive language to enter your ears.

4. Develop a “I can and will attitude.” Work hard every day to make your dreams a reality. You are the captain of your ship. If it sinks, it’s because you allowed it to happen. Don’t let anyone steer you in the wrong direction. Take control and lead it all the way.

5. Seek and work with a mentor. Mentors are good for so many reasons. Everyone needs someone in their life who is dependable, honest and supportive even during mistakes. This person should know your goals and attempt to help you achieve them. Make certain this person is willing to be there every step of the way, good and bad.

"Success is not measured by what you accomplish, but by the opposition you have encountered and the courage with which you have maintained the struggle against overwhelming odds."

-Orison Swett Marden

I've learned to have a great day regardless of what and who I encounter. The world is filled with critics/haters who find wrong in everything you do. In fact, their goal in life is to make certain you fail and never recover. People are so quick to point out your faults while they ignore theirs. Ignore ignorance and stay focused on what makes you happy. You are entitled to live your life the way you please. Be encouraged!! Many blessings and much success!!

5 Checkpoints of Change in your Career

Don’t FEAR change!! No matter how you feel about it, change is an inevitable part of our lives. It can be controllable, but for most, they are at the mercy of change. Learning how to accept it, embrace it and roll with the bumps and bruises of it makes you not only resilient, but capable of bouncing back sooner. Creating goals is something that should remain a constant in your life, whether you use them to plan your career, start a project or start a new life. Goal setting helps us see more clearly where we need to go and what we need to do to make that happen. Follow these 5 tips to help you gain perspective in your career and be an agent of change. 1. Seriously evaluate your reasons for wanting to change careers or get promoted in your current position. Ask yourself honestly if you want to change because you don’t like your job, because you don’t like your employer, or because you have an interest in gaining new skills and abilities and expanding your horizons. The last reason is the best reason to make a change. 2. Gain any additional training or education you need to realize a smooth transition into a new position or employment opportunity. If you don’t know what the educational requirements are for a new opportunity, then find out. Visit the BLS http://www.bls.gov to find out what the job requirements, educational requirements and salary are for the job or career field you intend to enter.

3. If changing careers, know that you may have to start from the ground up. This may mean a salary cut. If you know you will have to take a reduction in salary, then make up for it by finding a way to budget your expenses until your salary catches up with you. You should also evaluate whether you can afford changes to your salary. Hopefully, a career transition will eventually (or immediately in many cases) result in an increase, rather than decrease in salary. 4. If you plan to leave your current employer, always be sure to give them advance notice so they have time to find a replacement if necessary. This is especially true of highly technical jobs, where it can be hard to find someone on short notice and train them well enough to do the job right. You never want to burn bridges because you never know what may come out of change. 5. If you are confident that you want to change careers but aren’t sure of what you want to do, consider going into business for yourself. Evaluate your skills, abilities and talents. Look at your financial situation and assess your management and organizational skills. Many people have hopes of one day creating their own business. Now may be the time to do this. Just be sure you prepare for a big change like this by researching the home business process before you leap right in and quit your job. Many people who decide to start their own business end up keeping their jobs and working on their business part time during their off hours. This is a good way to give you time to wet your feet and get a feel for whether a home business is something you really want to start. This will also allow you time to evaluate whether you can really make enough money from it to support your family if need be.

No matter what decisions you make, when career planning for change it is important you always take your time to evaluate and analyze your decisions from numerous levels and perspectives. Always keep in mind that the grass may not be greener on the other side. Yet you will never know if it is or not if you don’t at least take a closer look. Never make decisions in the heat of the moment and always be sure to research your alternatives and new occupations before you leap right in. If you consider all options and clearly observe your goals and objectives, you will realize and reap much success in your career planning journey.

The 6 Passages of Righteousness in Business

Righteousness Business is tough and in order to remain on top, you have to be a student of the game and a believer in your efforts. What you do and how you react is conclusive of your success and the results. Take a bite out of these tips and see if it makes a difference in your life.

1. Keep a close ear. Don’t be nosey, but listen to those customers who are unhappy with their current provider of service. Offer suggestions to resolve and be a resource. If it doesn’t work out, guess who they will call. 2. Be the expert in your field. Customers like to work with someone who has an edge over what they are facing. By providing your expertise, you will be the go to person when an issue arises and hopefully solve the problem. 3. Return all calls or designate someone to do it. You never know who’s on the other side of that line. This could result in missed business opportunities. Be proactive just as you would want someone to do for you. 4. Continue to educate yourself and your associates about what you do. Attend webinars, take a class, read a journal or book. Seek experts in your field that you admire and reach out. 5. Ask for preceptorships with your customers to learn more about what they do. How can you help the business if you don’t know much about their operations? One on one customer service goes a long way. Not only will you build rapport, but you will possibly spot other areas where you can be of assistance. 6. Treat others how you want to be treated. Live a Life Worth Repeating...

Live Life “If you start the day reading the obituaries, you live your day a little differently.”

David Levithan

For some, life zooms past us during our working years at the blink of an eye. Consistently, it’s the same daily aspect of wakening up to go to work, getting off work and turning around doing the same thing the very next day.  It's no big surprise why some ask themselves, "How did I get old so quick? Where did all the time go?" Well… time stands still for no one. Unless you use and make every second count, you will find yourself on the other hand of time with no restart button.

The issue is in the daily routine of work. The human personality has this propensity called deletion. Anything that continues to rehash, the memory does not record. Basically because it’s just not worth considering or remembering for that matter.

So…. how can we respect each experience of time and not neglect your life in the process?

The answer lies in you creating self-care, self-awareness and a desire that dwells deep inside of you. In essence, it is a realistic view of an elevated condition of familiarity with your own consideration, sentiments and daily activities. At the same time in the event that you can't do that yet, you can begin by honing in on these three thought provoking questions.

As you lie in bed and before dosing off, ask and answer these three questions:

  1. What is one thing I am thankful for on this day?
  2. What and how do I anticipate tomorrow?
  3. If I had to choose how my day will go, what would that look like?

I call these straight forward brain teasers that will encourage the beginning of creating something great? All things considered, let me share the rationale behind them. The first question requires you to thoroughly consider your day and discover something you're truly thankful for. As you do that, not only will you discover something to be thankful for, you will likewise have reviewed your whole day from a much larger perspective. In Neuro-Linguistic Programming, we call this recapping an overall perspective and justifying the importance of a circumstance. Try this! Envision placing your everyday experience into a container, put a top on it and then name it, "The Way I View My Life". Having a considerable amount of these containers in your thoughts sorts your memories into noteworthy encounters or folders per se’ instead of having them as one extensive cluster called, "My Life.. How I Hoped it Would Be".

The second question entices you to look forward in time and envision what's going to or what you hope to happen tomorrow. When you have something to anticipate, it makes this characteristic more appealing to the mind and gives you the drive and energy to make it happen. You will feel inspired the minute you wake up. It will be the first thought on your mind and your self-sensor will provoke you to act on it.

The third question uncovers your deepest desires based upon the fact that we typically decide to dream about what we need and wish for. This solidifies your path and reason which later clarifies your desire to want it even more.

If you ask yourself these three questions on a regular basis, you will have a greater respect for the time you have and it won’t seem to fly by. You will begin to focus on the important aspects about your life and have a clear perspective to do what truly matters. Live life intentionally, full of joy and do what makes you happy.

Start a Business with Little Capital

"Many people work the business wrong, then claim the business is wrong when it doesn’t work.” - Len Clements, Founder & CEO of MarketWave, Inc.

“Don’t hate what you don’t understand” - John Lennon

Most people dream of starting their own business, but most don’t have enough capital to do so. The most popular business in America is McDonald’s. It has a recognizable name and most everyone has eaten at one. To become a franchisor, the company requires a minimum of $750,000 of non-borrowed personal resources to consider you for a franchise. The average person doesn’t have that so they continue to look for something that they can afford. The reality, most brick and mortar highly profitable franchises are going to cost a significant amount of money to start. They are also going to require liquid assets and a book of financials to offer you the opportunity. Not to mention, the fees you will pay to use and profit from their name.

If you still are interested in becoming a business owner, may I suggest you consider multi-level marketing? The reason multi-level marketing or MLM’s are so popular is because of its low cost to become a business owner, the ability to work from home and the reality that you can run your own business from anywhere in the country. It literally is considered a franchise with little to no fee and the rewards are astronomical. Your small join or sign -up fee is buying a piece of a company, just like a franchise, that was started by someone else. You buy the opportunity to market the business, be the CEO of your own organization, use the products and even more, partner with other business leaders and earn an income while doing so. This income can be as large or small as you want. Depending on your efforts, your ability to learn and be coachable, you determine your growth from there. Now I must be honest and say this is not so easy to do. Just like owning a brick and mortar franchise, you must put in the work in order for it to be successful. This is the main reason why most don’t succeed at Multi-Level Marketing.

If you are considering an MLM home based business? It could be a very lucrative home based business option for you, but you should also know exactly whether or not what you are getting into is truly an MLM home based business or something else. Plus, you need to weigh out the positives and negatives of an MLM home based business before you decide that it is the right business for you.

Making sure you are actually getting involved in an MLM home based business, or multi-level marketing home based business, is important to save yourself some difficulties later. An MLM home based business involves the direct selling of products or services through the recommendations or endorsements of independent representatives/distributors. So, if you are the representative, you receive a commission on any sales that came from your endorsements. Also understand that most products sold through an MLM home based business are not necessarily advertised through mainstream media or in stores. They are considered specialty items and typically can only be purchased through you.

The confusing part of determining if your MLM home based business is legitimate is that there are a number of pyramid schemes out there that are dangerously similar to legitimate MLM home based business concepts. Remember, a pyramid scheme is illegal, and getting involved in one can cause you more trouble that it is worth. You will need to do your research into any MLM home based business that you are considering so that you are sure the MLM home based business you are going to run is valid and legal. Usually, if your investment in proportionate to the product or service you are selling, your MLM home based business will probably be valid.

There are a number of advantages to having an MLM home based business. First of all, you will be working from home where you can virtually set your own hours, which is probably why you are considering an MLM home based business in the first place. Also, you will not have to manufacture (profit saver) any products, because you are usually selling things that are already made and the MLM home based business will usually come with a pre-determined marketing plan. Many people suffer through the process of determining the most effective methods for marketing their products, but with an MLM home based business, you are relieved of that stress. Consider it a business in a box with all the bells and whistles.

The disadvantages of having your own MLM home based business, though, depends a bit on your personality. If you have good leadership skills and are as self-starter, then an MLM home based business will pose little hardship to you. However, if recruiting and selling gives you hives, then starting and maintaining an MLM home based business may be more of a challenge, since your success depends on your ability to be proactive in the business by possibly recruiting and selling your products/services.

Still, having your own MLM home based business means that you can live out your dream of being your own boss, having flexibility in your work schedule and create an extra stream of income that could possibly replace your current one. The cool thing is, you do not need any prior experience unlike most high paying jobs. You can rely on your personality, your desire to learn and your ability to share information as the benchmark to maintain your business.

Just like corporate America, MLM organizations look for leaders. Those individuals who have a desire to exceed expectations, help the organization grow and develop a rewarding lifestyle doing so. Still, do your research to make sure your MLM home based business is a legal business so that you can truly enjoy the true freedom that the MLM home based business offers. There are many opportunities to create the income and the life you deserve if you are willing to put in the sweat equity and work.

Don't Spend That Refund Check Just Yet!

Calendar - Tax Day Circled

"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it." -Ronald Reagan

It's tax time again! You may not like this time of year, but many people do. Was saving money, making money or spending money on your list of resolutions for 2015? If so, here's a great opportunity to start the year off right. Don't just talk about it, be about it and just do it! Instead of using your tax refund that you allowed the government to hold all year with no interest to buy something of no value, utilize it to increase your financial portfolio and better the life of yourself and those around you. You will be much better off in the long run and you will reap what you sow. A harvest well planted grows bountiful in rewards. Listed below are 5 things you can do today to increase your net worth.

1. Buy a house. As a homeowner, you get to deduct the interest you pay to the mortgage company. Even though home ownership comes with a lot of responsibility, the good outweighs everything. Instead of being the 3rd party in a transaction, it will be you and the bank. Not you, the landlord and the bank. Home ownership helps you build wealth. You will have an opportunity to build a solid credit history with on time monthly payments. This gives you leverage. If you are renting or leasing, your landlord enjoys this benefit. He/she is basically enjoying the financial rewards of your inability to do this and creating wealth at the same time. Things have changed a lot with buying a home. I suggest you seek a qualified, licensed Realtor and mortgage professional to help you along the way.

2. Start a home-based business. You may feel that starting a business can be costly and overwhelming. Well... you are right for the most part. However, a home based business offers so much more flexibility and are typically less expensive to start versus a brick and mortar type of business. Most home based business owners start while they are still working a job to make ends meet. That's the uniqueness of this type of opportunity. Being a business owner gives you the right to write off expenses while conducting business. It also provides you with another means of income and you are not so dependent on your job. Business owners save an average of $500.00 monthly on their taxes and that's just the tip of the iceberg. That's about 10 to 18 percent. You have the flexibility to do what the average tax payer cannot do which gives you more diversity in your portfolio. You can deduct home office space, utilities, gifts and incentives to name a few. Check with your local tax advisor about the advantages in your state.

3. Invest in stock options. Even though the Dow has its ups and downs, your money has a greater chance to increase versus being placed in a bank account at 0.5% to 2% interest. Search and investigate the companies growth history over the last five years so that you can make a wise decision. Hire a broker if you don't feel comfortable with your knowledge. Join an investment club, watch you-tube videos and read books. There's so much information available at your fingertips about how to build wealth.

4. Pay off credit card debt with the highest interest. Most of your monthly payment is going towards the interest and not the balance. This activity makes it literally impossible to ever pay it off in a reasonable amount of time. Debt is the handicap of wealth. The only way to get rid of it is to stop accumulating it. Credit card debt can be good and bad. Depending on what you are using it for justifies its value.

5. Donate to charity. This is the most rewarding aspect of giving. You haven't been blessed until you can bless someone else. Not only will you impact the lives of others, but you will contribute to your personal well being by utilizing it as a deduction next year to do the same thing again or find a new cause. Find a charity you are passionate about. Utilize its mission to make you a better person. Get involved with the charity and its purpose. Your time and donation will be indispensable to those in need.

I hope you found these five tips worthy. Encourage others to take this challenge. Be the spearhead of this endeavor and watch how your life and your circumstance will change for the better. Not only will you be happier, you will also feel more accomplished. Blessings!
