Remember.. There is Light at the End of the Tunnel

tunnel.jpg

Whether trying to balance work and life, running a marathon, working towards your dream, chasing after the kids or trying to make a marriage work, there are some situations we can find ourselves in where we want to keep going but really struggle to maintain motivation. We have to give every last drop of will-power and energy not to just give up and pack it all in.

In these situations. it's important to understand nothing is worth it if you are not all into it. Simply put.. take care of yourself first. We often find ourselves turning to mental tricks and prayer to try and convince ourselves to keep going. So what are some of the best techniques you can use in the moment to ensure that you persist?

Draw Inspiration from Simple Moments

You must have some good moments that you can look back at and smile even today. Majority of us have stories and memories that we can use to dig deep and find inspiration. Perhaps you had a parent or a friend who never gave up no matter what. Maybe you remember them challenging you to accomplish something and really believing in you. Or maybe you have a favorite movie or event that keeps its memory alive.  Either way, these sorts of thoughts and memories can help you to dig deep when you're really struggling for energy, commitment or will-power.

If that doesn't work, try an inspiring music that lifts your spirit. Some people resort to their favorite song or a gospel track that speaks of trials and triumphs. Regardless of what it is, make certain it embodies you with peace and determination.

Remind Yourself Why You're Doing It

Everything you do should have purpose and meaning. Remind yourself why you're doing what you're doing. Is it for yourself or is it for someone else. If you're working towards a dream then try visualizing yourself where you want to be when you complete the task. If you're trying to make money, that might mean imagining yourself on a cruise, on your dream vacation, or in your dream house. Use visuals to help make your goals more realistic. I always remind my clients to give deadlines to their timelines. Meaning establish a date that you plan to accomplish it and stick to it.

Remind Yourself of the Consequences

If you don't accomplish your goals, what will be the price. Sometimes the stick can be more motivating than the carrot. If imagining yourself being highly successful because you did well isn't doing the trick, then maybe try doing the opposite instead and imagining what would happen if you had to give up. Imagine having to tell everyone you failed. Imagine knowing you failed… Especially after all the effort you've already put in! Failure isn't fun. However, it could be the medicine you need to achieve your goals. Failure has always been my greatest teacher. It's given me perspective that I am greater than that.

Break it Down

mountains.jpg

It's okay to go slow and at your own pace. The only race you are trying to complete is yours and nobody can beat you at that. If you're tackling what seems to be an impossible task then sometimes it can help to break it down into smaller milestones. Your goals will seem more achievable if you don't make the task look so big. Climbing a hill is more motivating than climbing a mountain. For instance, if you've dreamed of writing a book, then celebrate each time you add a thousand words and count how many units of 1,000 you have left to go. Your first book doesn't have to be long, but it should be worth reading. Learn more about how to write your first book here.

Take a Break

Taking a break requires you understanding Rome wasn't build in a day and great things take time. Sometimes the best thing to do is to take a step back and have a breather. A breath of fresh air ain't never hurt anyone. Your peace will help you to achieve moreso than your anger. Be strategic with your energy management and realize that a short time away can often yield better results in the long term. You will also appreciate the process and respect it more.

I hope these tips have helped. Accomplishing daily goals is essential for success. Realizing that you can't do it all by yourself and that it's ok to ask for help is necessary. Cha -Ching with the Bitcoin Bling: 4 Strategies to Get Yours

bitcoin7.jpg

If you haven’t heard of the latest craze in investing, you’ve been under a rock. It’s being called a risky business investing in highly volatile bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies. The future of virtual money has hit the mainstream and it is hot right now. With no physical presence, these currencies are all electronic or virtual in nature. They don’t even have intrinsic value. However, no one can deny that right now these cryptocurrencies are extremely valuable and those who invested in the early days, and held on to their investments, are living the high life now as multi-millionaires and some have claimed the title of billionaires!  Does it pay to get in early? Well… it depends on who you ask.

I invested $40 dollars in Bitcoin in 2015. The last surge I saw my investment climb to $800. Wowzer.. off of $40??? If that's a great indication of the future, well I'm jumping on the bandwagon looking for a greater return. Nevertheless, as my grandmomma would always say, "Never put all your eggs in one basket." What a wise woman she was.

Here are 4 investing strategies that I've gathered along the way.

1 –  Expect Volatility Early On

It’s basically a given for cryptocurrencies that they are going to be extremely volatile. One minute the price is sitting at 5 digits, and the next it’s at 4 or even 3 digits! It’s unpredictable and if you don’t take its volatility seriously, you could get in a lot of trouble. You could panic and sell off your crypto so you can minimize your loss.

However, if you’ve braced yourself for scenarios like this, then you’d probably just shut down your computer, or turn off your TV, and lie down and sleep off your doubts. Tomorrow is a different day, the price could go back up, and all will be fine with the world. Being prepared for volatility is tough, but it’s doable.

2 –  Play at Your Own Risk

Do your research before you start investing in bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies. When you’re dealing with hard-earned money, you don’t want to lose everything in one day.  You’re investing to make a profit sometime in the future. Don’t go all in without studying what you’re putting your money into.

3 – Be Versatile in Your Investment Portfolio

Don’t put all your eggs in one basket, so to speak. Don’t just invest in bitcoins. If possible, invest in other cryptocurrencies as well as traditional assets like stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. At least if bitcoin prices drop, then you’re not going to be totally in the red. Your other investments will help keep you afloat.

4 – Seek Different Storage Options

Store your virtual coins in cold wallets. Investing is a long-term game, and it is not advisable to keep your cryptocurrencies in online wallets such as your exchange’s wallet, or even your mobile app wallet. Keep your private keys in cold wallets such as paper or hardware wallets since these aren’t connected to the Internet. You can keep small

Well this is just a synopsis of how interesting Bitcoin is and will grow to be. I don't know about you, but I love to stay on the cutting edge of what's next. The more you are in the know, the more opportunities you have to profit. If you are interested in learning more and how to invest in it, The Basics and Need to Know About Bitcoin is a great place to start. '

How to Get More Out of Your 2018

2018 goals.jpg

If you want more out of life, you will have to get more out of yourself. Planning, setting goals and sticking to them will set you apart from someone who makes resolutions versus one who makes a commitment and follows through.

In order to have your best 2018..

1. Live everyday better than the day before. Be in competition with yourself. No one is perfect and everyone makes mistakes. The more you are accountable to you and what you do, the more confident you will become. There's always another opportunity to correct, start over and redo. Be your biggest cheerleader. Clap for yourself and seek less approval.

2. Opt-in for more happiness and seek greater abundance. Instead of looking at what is wrong or what could go wrong, focus on what could go right. Make a daily commitment to be happy about something. Gain clarity and get better. The more you work on bettering you, the less you will be concerned about the things around you that are not right. A mind focused on abundance can help you strategize this plan. Check out the 5 Day Mindset Challenge to help you get on track.

3.  Adopt new behaviors that will stretch you. Being stretched breaks the normal aspect of what you are used to. Seek the advantages of trying and doing something new. Your value is greater than your worth. In developing an attitude of gratitude, you will learn that by stretching, you are actually pruning yourself for what is to come. Check out Why You Should Take Your Elevation Seriously. Your next level is not only going to require more of you, but it will require you to make some decisions that will make you uncomfortable.

4. Explain less and explore more. Most often you never try anything new because you have to answer to someone about why you want to do it. In 2018, become more in control of your destiny. Do you and never apologize for wanting to change, grow or improve. You owe it to yourself and those you love to be the best you can be everyday.

Explaining to people who may doubt you and talk you out of it will only stifle your desired growth. Explore new things and get uncomfortable being comfortable.

5. Live above your means. Now this is contrary to what society will tell you. But the reality is if you live below your means, you are limiting your potential towards achieving the life you desire.

Nothing in life is free and freedom is an asset. If you want it, it's going to cost you to get it. As a result, you may have to seek additional streams of income in order to make what you want a reality. You must plan accordingly and that includes setting goals that are attainable and those that may be above what you can afford. The more you aim towards your goals, the less attention you will pay to the distractions. You will become focused and determined to achieve a full life versus lack.

2018 will only be what you decide it to be. Every year comes with challenges. Take each day as it comes and always look at the bright side. Yes.. there is always a bright side to every situation. Know that life is only short if you are not living.

If you want to explore new purpose or direction in your life, consider life coaching. I can be reached here for a one one 15 min consult to assist you with planning an amazing 2018 and beyond.

Until next time, blessings and peace

Slowly Fill Your Glass Until it's Full

conquer fear everyday.jpg
If you are not willing to risk the usual, then you will just have to settle for the ordinary.
— Jim Rohn

Let me ask you a question. Do you know a person who always seems happy and positive about themselves and life in general? They never seem to have a problem and seem to be able to deal with things in life with composure and grace.

Overall... I find these people to be far and few in between. If a person is this way, social perspectives will tell us that they are either faking it until they make it or something else is going on in that picture. The reality is that there are people who exist that live life intentionally with now excuses or apologies. And it’s nothing wrong with it. We all need to surround ourselves with people who have a positive mindset and who are living life on purpose versus just by happenstance.  Do you wish you were more positive and could relate to this behavior? Are you able to deal with your life circumstances with a positive attitude?

These people have a way of seeing life as being a “half full glass” where even if things are going very wrong, they find something positive in it to focus on. Viewing life this way is natural for some people, but for most people who use this approach to life, it is a learned response. It develops from making an intention to look at the positive and not dwell on the negative. This behavior is practiced. It’s not necessarily developed overnight, but it is a daily process that is always a work in progress.

Now all of this may sound easy on paper, but, it’s not. How do people learn to focus on a half-full glass and not the half-empty one and remain positive? It’s not easy to be thankful when faced with difficult circumstances. That’s a fact! However, practicing gratitude daily helps us deal with a lot of thing and being able to deal with the most difficult experiences we may face in our lives. It is the key to the optimism that we see in the positive person we admire so much.

When we complain all the time, we can quickly lose our perspective. Your thoughts are prayers and they can turn into what happens in your life. Yes, we are all different and move at a different pace. What one does in less time may take a longer time for others. But before you complain, consider the work quality between the two. Maybe our concern is justified, but if the work produced is superior in quality, then maybe the extra time was justified? Quality versus quantity will always supersede

A “half glass full” thinking seeks to clarify a situation before complaining about it. It asks whether a complaint will make the situation better or worse and if it will help to resolve the issue. In most cases, the answer to both these questions is no! On those occasions where it is justified, then we should do something about it. A clear perspective on the situation can help us to resolve an otherwise irresolvable problem. Maintaining an attitude of gratitude helps us maintain a positive perspective on most things that happen in our life. It helps to keep the glass half-full even in the most difficult of circumstances.

Strive to keep your glass full always. Understand that you have the authority to make your life a reflection of your ideas and thoughts. Know that you can purposely live in your light, shine bright and be whoever you want to be without apologizing for your greatness. Say it is so... If you need to clarify your thoughts for 2018, if you are interested in living a bigger life in your faith, lifestyle, health and wealth, I’m offering you a FREE transformation class here. Let’s plan and prepare to dominate our greatness and move through roadblocks with determination and inspiration. I will see you on the other side of fear. Don't forget to share this blog post with someone who needs that extra push.

Blessings and much peace,

5 Ways to Develop a Personal Brand

5 Ways to Develop a Personal Brand

If you are a millennial, branding self is your way of life. You know what it takes to separate yourself from your parents and others who are doing what you do. If you've been around the block a couple of times, branding to you may be fitting into the brand of your employer to model yourself after the company.

A lot has changed since I graduated from undergrad. Grad school was pre-online. Since then I've noticed the more things change, the more they seem to stay the same. In this new way of doing business and career search, if you are not changing, you will find nothing changing for you.

As a small business consultant and certified life coach, I work with corporate brands as well as personal brands. No... I'm not a branding coach, BUT, branding is more than just an idea, a logo and color. It's an impression of you. Not that those characteristics aren't important, but there is more to a brand that often goes unnoticed. Branding is building a message around a package that represents what is delivered. It separates you from others and makes you one of a kind. Here are 5 ways to help you identify with you and build a brand around what you consider marketable.

Your personal brand should answer…

1.      Who are you? No one can answer this better than you. You should know what you represent and how you want to have it represented. Understanding what you bring to the table is key to your success. Knowing how you bring it is even more important. Have a clear message that speaks volumes even if you aren’t in the room.

2.      What’s your story? This is what makes each of us unique. Yes, you have a story and probably a darn good one too. No matter how big or small, it has significance. None of our stories are the same and all have facts that make it worth listening to and sharing.

3.      Why is your story relevant? Relevance is key in personal branding. It identifies why people should want to know more about what and how you do it.  The impact of your story should be your "ah ha" moment. What makes it personal and how does it describe what's taking place in your life right now?

4.      Who is it for? In business, this would be your target market. You can’t speak to everyone and expect an answer. Why? Because everyone won’t need to hear what you have to say. Be specific in how you identify who it is for. This can be challenging if you don’t drill down and have clarity on what that target looks like.

5.      How can your story help others? Your story is your testimony. What did you do to overcome where you are or were?  If it changed your life, it may possibly change someone else’s too. Don’t be afraid to share your victories, your struggles, your trials and your tribulations. It identifies you and what you are becoming.

Upon answering these questions with clarity and a message to promote, you are well on your way to marketing your value and pricing your worth. Don’t ever underestimate your worth. If no one values it, make certain you do. Never compromise with it either. In the end, the more you do to excel in your life with knowledge, experience and education, the more you will find yourself free to be who you want to be in every way.

Until next time, go and start building your brand,
